1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using ZenPaisa (the "Service") — provided through our mobile app and zenpaisa.com — you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What ZenPaisa is

ZenPaisa is a personal finance management (PFM) tool that helps you track expenses, set budgets, plan goals, monitor debts, audit subscriptions, and use an AI "CFO" chat for financial questions. We currently offer a free tier; paid tiers (e.g. "Plus") may launch in future under separate billing terms presented to you in-app before any charge.

ZenPaisa is not a bank, NBFC, broker, RIA, or tax preparer. We are not a financial advisor or fiduciary.

3. Your account

You must be 18 or older to use ZenPaisa.
You are responsible for keeping your password and devices secure.
You must provide accurate registration info. Do not impersonate someone else.
One person per account. Sharing logins is prohibited.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.

4. Acceptable use

You may not:

Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' data.
Scrape, reverse-engineer, decompile, or use automated tools against the Service.
Use the Service for money laundering, fraud, or any other illegal activity.
Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service.
Upload malicious content, viruses, or attempt to disrupt the Service.

5. Financial disclaimer (important)

ZenPaisa provides informational tools. We do not provide:

Investment advice or stock/MF recommendations.
Tax filing services. Our tax calculators are estimates only.
Banking, lending, payment, or money-transfer services.
Insurance or pension advice.

AI-generated content (CFO chat, insights, workflows) is informational and may contain errors. Verify everything with a qualified Chartered Accountant or SEBI-registered investment advisor before acting on it, especially around taxes, investments, and large financial decisions.

6. Data accuracy

SMS auto-import and AI categorization are best-effort. You are responsible for reviewing imported transactions and correcting any mistakes. We are not liable for financial decisions made based on inaccurate auto-parsed data.

7. Intellectual property

The ZenPaisa name, logo, app, website, and code are owned by ZenPaisa. You retain ownership of the financial data you enter. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that data so we can provide the Service to you.

8. Service availability

We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. We may push critical security updates without prior notice.

9. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZenPaisa shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) ₹1,000.

10. Termination

You may delete your account any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. We may terminate accounts that violate these Terms. On termination, your data is purged per our Privacy Policy (Section 6).

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified at least 7 days in advance via in-app notice and/or email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising shall first be resolved in good faith via our Grievance Officer (see /grievance). Unresolved disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka.
